A pandemic wedding brings with it tons of uncertainty, last minute goof-ups and much more. But one thing that’s certain, is that you’ll be looking for lots of Intimate Wedding Ideas and inspirations! So here’s everything you need to see…
When Mehak and Viren finally tied the knot in an intimate wedding in Jan ’21 after a year of wedding planning, a global pandemic, dates and venue changes later, it was worth a dekkho!
You know how it is when you meet someone through common friends and just hit it off? That’s how it was, for Mehak and Viren. She had come home for her holidays while pursuing her Masters in London, and they got along like a house on fire.
Soon they confessed their feelings to each other! But she was heading back in two weeks and he said “Go and come back. I’ll be right here waiting”.
“That’s when I knew this could be the beginning of something special!”
The rest, as they say, is history… Five years later, they were taking the next big step in the middle of two waves of this raging global pandemic!
Mehendi re Mehendi!
The wedding celebrations began with a colourful mehendi event with lots of vibrant decor, yellow outfits, color bombs, beats of dhol and memorable moments!
Mehak glowed in a sunshine yellow off-shoulder lehenga with a ruffled sleeve! She completed her look with the most stunning jhumkas, maangtika and oversized ring with green meenakari and oodles of pearls.
Viren looked dapper in his beige kurta paired with a floral achkan and simple brown leather mojris.

Don’t they look the cutest together!
And when it comes to the mehendi decor, they went for a bright and vibrant theme in the shades of yellows, pinks, oranges and pretty floral baskets, which set the mood for a fun-filled afternoon!
Like most brides, Mehak got her own mehendi done before the actual mehendi function and for this she dolled up in a comfy pink dress and a floral tiara.
We are in louuuve with her pretty mehendi hands and feet and these beautiful bridal mehendi shots!
And when its your best friend’s mehendi, how can the Team Bride be far away!
For the glamourous sangeet night, Mehak turned up the charm in a glimmering cream and gold mirror work lehenga by Abhinav Mishra.
She kept her hairdo minimal, and the jewellery subtle with her pretty kundan necklace, maangtika and bangles.
Viren shined in his navy blue achkan and the two looked gorgeous together!
No wonder, she can’t stop twirling, cos who wouldn’t feel like a princess in something that pretty!
The sangeet stage was set on fire by fabulous dance performances by the family members and the lovely couple.
The Intimate Wedding – Anand Karaj
Mehak always wanted to be a pastel bride and doesn’t she look like a dream!
We are in love with this beautiful powder pink lehenga with resham and mirror work all over it.
She paired it with a statement kundan jewellery and the most gorgeous floral bun!
Viren complimented her look in his ivory sherwani paired with an embroidered pink shawl and a peach safa, and arrived to the venue galloping on horseback!
As she walked accross to meet him with near and dear ones, we love how she’s completely relaxed and smiling away.
Everything from the floral chaadar to the venue and her brothers’ outfits is perfectly color coded in shades of pastels!
As the couple took their vows with dearest ones amidst this dreamy floral setting and breathtakingly beautiful farmhouse, we can’t stop thinking, what more do we really need!
Taken soon after their wedding, these ‘Just Married’ pictures ooze such a vintage vibe!
We love these memories captured sooooo perfectly by the team of Israni Photography.
“I feel the only way to revisit a special moment is through pictures and videos… I’m so glad I got them for our big day!” says Mehak.
For the reception night, Mehak turned up the sass in this emerald green Amit Aggarwal lehenga with a drape and a stunner blouse!
We love how Viren suited up in a classic black tuxedo and the two look simply wow together!
The golden gates, florl decor, smoky stage – everything simply upped the glam quotient at the reception.
“Our wedding was a typical Punjabi wedding with two days of unlimited fun, lots of drinking and dancing, just how we had always imagined it to be!”, says our bride, Mehak.
“Most importantly, we both enjoyed our wedding!”
A Pandemic Bride’s tips for an Intimate Wedding?
Planning a wedding in general can be super stressful, let alone planning one during a pandemic!
We had initially planned a beautiful beachside wedding in Goa, but later felt it was wise to eliminate air travel and picked Viren’s family farmhouse (near Khopoli) – the destination was close, drivable and safe.
There’s something really special and intimate about doing your wedding at a family home and we are glad we went ahead with it! Keeping the distance and facilities in mind, we booked Novotel Imagica for the other functions and stay for our guests.
Since we had a limited number of guests, keeping two venues was a doable task. The hotel staff was very helpful and the safety measures were well taken care of.
The Kiss Says it All
As a couple, Viren and I always wanted a simple yet elegant wedding with our close family and friends and that is exactly what we’ve gotten due to the pandemic. It enabled us to spend quality time with our guests without unnecessary formalities. An intimate wedding is definitely more special!
