Dreaming of a fairytale wedding in a heavenly setting? Check out our lovely couple Ankita and Surya’s beautiful destination wedding in Mussoorie amidst lush greenery, lofty mountains and nothing but sheer love all around!
Can you imagine anything more romantic than a misty monsoon destination wedding in Mussoorie … breathtaking as it was, t’was perfectly captured by the expert team of Photozapki (Beginnings for you).
Love on Dandiya Night?!!
Our gorgeous bride (budding blogger & content writer Mint, Blush, Love) Ankita first met Surya on dandiya night in the first year of college and they were set up to go as a ‘couple’ by a friend… “but I didn’t cos I didn’t know him!”
We were both just 18 and my first thoughts were “he has a great sense of humor!” And guess what, next year they were going to dandiya night as a couple!
The Colorful Engagement
They got engaged around 8 months before the wedding and it was a small family affair at Ankita’s home where she herself did up the decor with colorful handmade paper fans, ribbons and more!
Isn’t that some great DIY decor ideas right there!
Dreamy Destination Wedding in Mussoorie
They decided on the beautiful Kasmanda Palace, in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, for their misty monsoon wedding and festivities kicked off with a subtle haldi function full of laughter and love!
Ankita chose a refreshing simple orange saree and paired it with beautiful floral jewellery and we think she’s simply glowing!
Doesn’t this look like a ‘haldi holi’ that both their families & the friends are totally enjoying!
Both Ankita and we love how beautifully these moments were captured by ‘the most beautiful soul and very talented’ Simran of Photozapki (Beginnings for you).
Mehendi & Sangeet
That night saw the Mehendi and the Sangeet functions which was one of Ankita’s favorites as it was the most fun-filled event with so many dance performances, cheering, dhol vaalas and endless fun!
And we louuuve how they took out time to get these cosy intimate couple portraits clicked right in the middle of all that wedding madness!
The Beautiful Wedding Day!
Their beautiful day wedding took place in Mussoorie, in the misty monsoon month of July among the closest friends and family.
Both the bride and groom chose lovely pastel outfits that complemented each other and went perfectly with the overall vintage look wedding theme!
As our bride Ankita got dolled up for her big day, she truly looked like a vision of ‘Mint, Blush, Love‘ – her Instagram Blogging handle!
Aren’t these shimmery silver anklets, pretty pink & gold embroidered mojris and the lovely chequered mehendi design looking just wow!
From that sheer baby pink veil to her heavenly floral bun… we’re totally smitten & we can only imagine how Surya must’ve felt! 😍
Your most memorable moment as a couple?
“Our most memorable moment on the wedding day has to be the moment I made my Bridal entry and we saw each other!”
All our friends stood holding 7 pictures of us (1 for each yr of courtship) and he got really emotional as he saw me walking down the aisle… We had waited for soooooo long for this moment!”
And here’s a simple yet sooooo romantic entryway with rose petals and quotes leading to the mandap!
Which is the next life milestone you’re looking forward to?
Our version 2.0 has just begun as we got married 😉 New adventures await us!!
“We’ve just started our life together but we have a lot of plans and dreams to check off our bucket list. Most of all, we want to start our venture together and grow as much as we can together in life… in fact we both give wings to each other!” says Ankita 🙂
The Shimmery Reception
For her reception, Ankita dolled up in a glittery gold lehenga and paired it with a stunning choker.
As they danced away to glory, their wedding day’s same day edit video played in the background for them and their guests to relive the wedding moments!
Top Tips for other brides-to-be?
- Get your mehendi done a night before the actual mehendi function so you can enjoy the function!
- Start looking for your bridal outfit asap as there will be many glitches and you will need time to sort them out.
- There are many things that will not go according to your plan, but just don’t forget to enjoy the moment and feel the love with your fiance as these moments pass too soon!
- Lastly, please eat and get your groom to eat too or you’ll regret not eating your shaadi food 😉
His Most Romantic Gesture?
A week before the wedding, Surya with the help of their mutual friends, arranged a very cute, surprise proposal for Ankita.
“Candles, rose petals, chocolates, balloons, and music playing all around as I entered the place and big helium metallic letters that said ‘I LOVE YOU’ and he asked me to marry him. It was so sweet!!” blushes our beautiful bride Ankita <3
What We loved Most About this Wedding?
Apart from the lovely couple, the pastel decor in such a breathtaking venue, but mostly we can’t get over the mystery of how Ankita & Surya managed to achieve this dream wedding in a budget of just 12-15 lacs!
Ankita reveals… “We both started planning the wedding from January and took 6 months to plan everything. Both were involved in everything from small details to big ones… But honestly, it was all worth it!”
How did you Split your Wedding Budget?
We made a budget range and stuck to it and tried reducing the expenses wherever possible. On an average, we spent 60% on venue + decor + catering and 20% on photography.
The rest was kept for outfits and other things.
Your tips to other Brides-to-be planning a dream wedding in a budget?
To have a dream wedding in a budget, go with what your heart wants!
You do not need to invite 1000 people who do not know you and just come to eat food. Have an intimate wedding with the ones who matter the most and have a reception later.
Do not overspend on outfits because you will look every bit the bride even if you wear a lighter lehenga. Do not try to make everyone happy and remember it is your wedding… so enjoy the day as much as you can!
What did you not restrict spending on?
Photography for sure and it was worth every penny… and Simran of ‘Beginnings for You ‘ is the best!!
